Principal Welcome Letter

Dear WHCS Families:
I want to take this opportunity to personally extend a warm welcome to our new and returning students for the WHCS 2009/2010 school year! An excellent three day in-service with James Daniels on Classical Education inspired and energized the teachers. Well dressed students, engaged in relationship building and learning, fill the classrooms and halls. I'm excited to be part of a quality education at a relationally unique place of study for our students!
As some of you are new to WHCS, I am new to the interim principal position. My education and experience includes: a degree in education, teaching Kindergarten-5 years, 1st-6 years, 2nd-one year, registrar one year, vice principal one year, elementary principal one year, kindergarten through twelfth grade principal two years in California and five years in Katy, Texas. As the interim principal my focus will be on teacher development in areas of differentiation and schematically providing a strong curriculum resource to fulfill our vision as a classical education school. My heart is to build community by positive relationships and communication. I consider it an honor to serve you and our staff at West Houston Charter School.
