Fifth Grade - Math and English

(The students spend writing time each week journaling to the quote of the week.)

 

Daily Affirmation:

"There is a choice you have to make in everything you do,

  So keep in mind that in the end,

  The choice you make, makes you."

(The students recite this each morning before class starts.)

Dear Fifth Grade Parents,

I am pleased to announce that the entire fifth grade class will recite the Robert Frost poem, The Road Not Taken at the February 18, 2010 West Houston Charter School Board Meeting at 5:30 p.m. The students will meet in the Commons at 5:15 to get organized to present at 5:30 p.m.  If possible, please plan for your child to attend this meeting to present the poem with their peers.

HOMEWORK IS DUE THE NEXT DAY UNLESS STATED OTHERWISE.  STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE A "o" FOR NOT HAVING THEIR HOMEWORK ON THE DAY IT IS DUE.

Poetry Elements Test- Thursday, February 25, 2010.

Math Quiz- Friday, February 26, 2010. Study Guide to be passed out in class on Friday- return on Monday for 5 points bonus on next weeks Math test.

2-2e-2010     There is no spelling homework this week and no spelling test this Friday.

The Group Project that was due on February 22, 2010 for The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere  by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, has been extended to Wednesday, February 24, 2010.
